With further European integration and increasing globalisation, businesses and individuals increasingly enter into legal relations with foreign entities.
The conclusion of a contract with a foreign business partner, damages incurred during stays abroad or marriage to a foreigner partner always raises the question of which laws should govern the relationship, those of the Czech Republic or those of another country. The given issues are addressed by private international law, the practical knowledge and application of which are of increasing importance.
Within international private law,we focus particularly on the following areas:
- contractual relations with an international dimension
- selection of governing law
- application of choice of law
- European Union law
- representation in court proceedings conducted with foreign entities
- European distrainment titles
